  • General AI (Strong AI): General AI, or Strong AI, represents the pinnacle of AI development. It refers to AI systems that possess human-like cognitive abilities, including the ability to understand, learn, and adapt to a wide range of tasks. While General AI remains a concept more than a reality, its potential applications are boundless, ranging from autonomous robots to advanced problem-solving and decision-making. Developing a General AI system is the ultimate goal of AI research, as it would have the ability to perform any intellectual task that a human can do. However, we are still far from achieving this level of artificial intelligence.

  • Deep Learning: Deep Learning is a subfield of Machine Learning that is inspired by the structure and function of the human brain. It involves the use of artificial neural networks, which consist of layers of interconnected nodes (neurons). Deep Learning has gained prominence due to its ability to handle vast amounts of data and perform complex tasks, such as: Image and speech recognition in applications like facial recognition and virtual assistants, Autonomous vehicles for advanced perception and decision-making and Natural language understanding and generation for chatbots and automated content creation. Deep Learning has brought about significant advancements in AI and has enabled applications that were previously deemed impossible.

  • Reinforcement Learning: Reinforcement Learning is a subset of Machine Learning where an AI agent learns to make decisions by interacting with an environment. The agent receives rewards or punishments based on its actions, allowing it to optimize its decision-making over time. Reinforcement Learning is commonly used in: Game playing, such as DeepMind’s AlphaGo and OpenAI’s Dota 2 bot, Autonomous robotics for tasks like navigation and object manipulation and Recommendation systems for personalized content delivery and advertising.
